In answer to a few more questions...

If you currently have a website or hosting package you may be able to add a WordPress site to that either through CPanel or FTP. Please check with your current host and make sure you bring along your CPanel and/or FTP login details.

If you do not have a website / blogsite yet and wish to setup a new one to work on at the workshop, please ensure you have purchased your domain name and hosting package prior to the workshop and have your login information.

BlueHost does literally do a 5 minute WordPress install for you - so if you purchase hosting from them you should be able to get this done at the start of the workshop.

Contact me if you want to know more.

I have had a couple of questions about the workshop so will answer them here:

Will I be able to manage my own WordPress site after doing this workshop?

Yes, this workshop will take you through the basics of using, updating and managing your WordPress (self-hosted) site.

What if I only have a wordpress.com site?

The workshop is aimed at people who have a self-hosted WordPress blog / site or who are considering setting one up. This means they have (or plan to get) a hosting package. If your WordPress site is hosted on wordpress.com you will not be able to customise your site or add the same kind of features that you can with a self-hosted option, but you will gain a lot of knowledge about using WP and perhaps even be coaxed into making the move to your own blog.

Will I be able to work on my own site during the workshop?

Yes, if you can bring a laptop with wireless connection ability or your own WiFi USB.

Can I setup a WordPress site on the day?

Yes, IF you have already purchased a hosting package and the host provides a quick install option using Fantastico, Simple Scripts, or similar. (Contact me if you want a recommendation)

What do I get to take home?

The workshop notes include details of everything covered in the workshop, plus a glossary of terms, recommended references and checklists.

If you have any more questions.... please feel free to ask me here, via email or give me a call on 0414 698 343.

Hi Bev & Jeannie, I really hope the workshop goes well, I'd love to be there. I will be on a promo gig out of town for my book though, so fingers crossed you will run another one next year:) Cheers, neroli

Hi there Bev ... am co-ordinating this one with Doug, my husband. If he's not working and can care for Bodhi, then I'll be there with bells on.

Wishes of sympathy re your family funeral - here's to it being a celebration of life.

Cheers ... Donna
